Tour details
Full Day
- For this exploration we will leave at 7am, we will go to the community of Sapacto, where it will be the starting point of our walk.
- Our guide will give us instructions to start the walk, always with a warm-up
- The first part we will ascend and go at a regular pace until we reach the first lagoon, you will be able to see that the communities in these areas are very small and that most of the time they seem uninhabited, it is because people always leave early during the day to take their animals to more distant places and return at dusk.
- We will continue and we will have flat parts as well as regular climbs, we will reach our first pass where we will leave our famous apachetas, the people of the Andes leave this form of stones on stones in gratitude for having reached the highest area.
- From the pass you will be able to see a valley to which we will descend little by little and if luck is with us, we will be able to see alpacas and llamas.
- Going down to this small valley we will reach our second lagoon surrounded by agricultural fields essentially producing potatoes, the ancient food of the Incas, with more than 4 thousand varieties of potatoes.
- We will have a regular ascent again for our second pass, upon arrival it will show us the largest lagoon of this exploration, we will understand the importance of water in the Andes.
- We will go down to another valley to find another lagoon, where we will have lunch, on the shores of the Totoracocha lagoon.
- Continuing we will border the largest lagoon of this exploration, which is Pampaqocha, the population of this place took advantage of the trout breeding in this lagoon which helps for extra economic income.
