Full Day

We pass by your hotel at 12:30pm to go to Qorikancha, its meaning is “Qori=Gold” and “Cancha=fence or enclosure” the golden enclosure, it was one of the most important temples in the Inca era, it is believed even from pre-Inca times. The legacy of architecture is the imperial Inca type, the best type of Inca construction. That justifies the religious and political importance that I represent in his time. Dedicated to the worship of the sun, as well as the moon, the stars, lightning and the rainbow.

Sacsayhuamán: It was built in the classic era of the Inca culture, it is a masterpiece of Inca architecture, it is impressive due to the polygonal stone walls that are perfectly adjusted to each other, the largest weighing up to 130 tons. Currently it is a highly visited tourist place for being an impressive testimony of the ingenuity and architectural skill of the Inca civilization.

Qenqo: Built in the Inca period, its use was possibly as a religious and ceremonial place. Its current name means zigzag, because we have a kind of zigzag tunnels carved into the rock which in turn has parts of natural formation. The presence of altars and the alignment at sunrise justifies the probable use for the ceremonies performed to the deities of the ancient inhabitants of Cusco.

Pukapukara: means red military fortification. It is possible that its use was out of military control on the Inca trail that connected the Sacred Valley that in turn connects Pisaq, Yucay, Calca. And its projection of this path would connect the Amazon rainforest.

Tambomachay: This archaeological site is continuous with Pukapukara, the word means “Tambo = resting place “Machay = refuge”. It was possibly a ceremonial place for purification rituals with the use of water, since it presents water sources in a system of terraces and mixed architecture from the Inca era.
